Obsidian Faith

by
They were the most unlikely pair to fall in love. . .

A golden boy with a dark past. A bi-racial girl with epic faith. These two weren't supposed to survive the system, sketchy origins and all.
Trevor Kyle has loved Shanice Bailey forever—from the time they both landed in the Baptist Children's Home until they were young adults raised by adoptive families that had no resemblance to the worlds from which they came. Trevor has always been her protector and champion even when he was busy pushing her away for her own good.

Shanice has always taken her faith in Trevor seriously. Her childhood oath is strengthened when she learns the true meaning of family. But After Trevor’s adoptive parents die tragically and his bachelor uncle takes him in, she finds that the boy she’s always looked up to has changed, and not for the better. Yet, she can’t bring herself to forget him as her pure childhood love for him blossoms into something more.

The most generous heart and truest faith does not travel an easy path. Just when Trevor thinks he's found a way to keep his promise to be with Shanice forever, a specter from the past threatens their future plans.

Excerpt

“You know what we should do, Trevor?”
“What?”
“We should adopt each other, since we don’t have a Mommy or Daddy.”
“Okay.” He grinned. “We can be like the two musketeers.”
Shanice looked confused. “What’s a musketeer?”
“They were like these special soldiers who guarded the king of France a long time ago. Their special motto, uh, saying, was ‘one for all and all for one.’”
She looked more confused. “And what does that mean?”
“They had each other’s back… looked out for each other.”
“Like we’re always going to do, right?” She said and gave him a big smile.
“Right.”
From that day forward, in Shanice’s eyes, Trevor could do no wrong. – OBSIDIAN FAITH, by Bev Elle

Fly Me To The Moon by Bev Elle

Ticketing agent Jessamy Taylor has been in a dating slump exacerbated by moving her sickly mother into her home. The truth is she's never gotten over the quirky Dr. Griffin Sanderson whose Obsessive Compulsive Disorder drives her crazy, despite his excellent bedside manner.

Fly Me To The Moon is a love song covered by many, the most memorable being Frank Sinatra. Griffin whistles this tune incessantly, but that’s just one of the many odd quirks Jessamy Taylor either loves or hates about him. Since their ill-fated love affair two years prior, she’s found no one to replace the good doctor.

A date that goes awry for Jessamy somehow ends with her in Griffin’s arms. Will the changes he’s made be enough this time, or will secrets tear them apart?

Interview with Bev Elle:
1.    Can you tell us a little about your books?
My books are contemporary romances. Some with a little interracial/multicultural flavor, and others are suspenseful and intriguing. I hope to eventually have an historical/paranormal as well.

2.    What book was the first one you wrote?
Obsidian Faith was my first book which was included in the Obsidian Collection, an anthology, which is now defunct. However, Obsidian Faith is now a standalone.

3.    Which one of your characters has been your favorite to write about?
So far, my favorite character has been Dr. Griffin Sanderson, the male protagonist in Fly Me To The Moon, which debuted in the Frequent Flyers boxed set. Griffin was fun to write because he had a very unique problem that sabotaged his relationship with Jessamy Taylor the first time around. Fly Me To The Moon will be released as a standalone on Valentine’s Day.

4.    Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I have a home office which I’ve painted a beautiful lavender color. It is my favorite place to write because it’s mine and it’s a soothing room to be in.

5.    What is your favorite genre to write?
Romance of any genre. I am a sappy romantic, so I write what I like.

6.    Do you listen to music while you write?
Yes, I sometimes do, especially if it’s flowing, I like writing to mood music. This can range from classical to hip-hop. I am a lover of all kinds of music.

7.    When did you know you wanted to write a book?
I had the dream when I was very young, but the industry was so difficult to infiltrate, I gave up even after having a short story accepted by a magazine. Then life happened and I was all about the business of raising my children. Now that they are all grown and the indie publishing industry has taken off, I felt like now was my time.

8.    What's one random fact about yourself that you can share?
I know a lot of trivial information about pop culture and many other                               subjects.

9.    What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I’m working on a novel entitled The Parisian Assignation, which is about a young man who learns he’s the heir to a French Aristocrat’s fortune, who is schooled by his Assistant, an American expat who drives him to distraction.
I’m also working on a novel about an adrenaline junkie who’s hurt in one of his daredevil stunts and is nursed back to health by a gorgeous nurse whom he has a love-hate relationship with in the beginning. Of course, it eventually become all love. LOL
Finally, I’m working on two other projects under another name. One is a historical paranormal, and another is a YA series.
