He is her most dangerous temptation and now he is demanding her submission. Dare she take the risk?

Book one in the Regency Risks Series

Emotionally scarred in the horrific accident that took her husband's life, Lady Cranfield is imprisoned by her lingering terror of horses and carriages. She longed to be closer to the fascinating Earl of Ruel. She sensed intuitively that he could teach her how to overcome the terrors that held her in bondage.

And now she's willing to risk almost anything-her reputation, even her virtue-to find out. But what he proposes startles her.

When the shy, studious and socially awkward young widow approached him, Ruel instantly sensed she would be the sweetest, most submissive experience of a lifetime-if only he can gain her total and complete trust. He makes her a non-negotiable offer. His help in return for her submission and obedience.

But Lady Cranfield grew up neglected by her ducal parents, raised by servants and then later ignored by her handsome, charming husband. She's learnt to protect her heart at all costs and she trusts no one but herself.

How can the jaded Earl of Ruel break through her self-protective defences and show her how to love when he has spent his lifetime avoiding that tender trap?

Interview with Natasha Blackthorne

Can you tell us a little about your book?
Hello Gia and Tabitha, thank you so much for hosting me here tonight at Amazeballs Book Addicts. I am so thrilled to be here.

I'd like to talk about my Erotic Regency Romance, A Measured Risk, Regency Risks Book One. It features a rubenesque heroine and contains elements of light BDSM and D/s presented in a historical context. (It is not meant to be an accurate portrayal of a modern BDSM lifestyle.)

Lady Cranfield is a shy, self-protective person. She was neglected in her childhood, raised by servants on a remote Irish estate while her parents resided in Mayfair, London. She’s learnt that people cannot be trusted. She’s not comfortable with emotion. She prefers books and theories. She isn’t the typical English Regency miss. Her priorities and perspectives are different. She has no use for society life and much prefers her library.  She never really completely understood all the rules and rituals.

At the start of the story, she’s imprisoned by fear. This trauma developed after her husband was mauled to death by the carriage horses in an accident. He released his last breath in the circle of her trembling arms. She barely survived and since then has been crippled by her newfound terror of both horses and carriages.

When her late husband’s cousin, the new earl, comes home for the hunting season, she suddenly finds her private world invaded by a loud, fast, fashionable crowd that pushes the limits of what is considered scandalous. And she’s relegated to the position of an unwanted relic. She’s about to meet Jonathon Lloyd, the fascinating, virile, brave Earl of Ruel. He’s about to show her a whole new word of wickedly sensual experiences, both in bed and out, that she never dreamed existed. In return, he wants something that she never expected, her complete submission. Is she willing to take the risk?

What was your favorite chapter (or part) to write?
I never really have favorite parts of any story. I only write scenes that come to me strongly and that I have deep feeling for. If I don't get a deep enough feeling for a scene then I begin to suspect that scene is not important enough to be shown in real time in the story and I try to find a way to cut or condense it. So at the moment I am writing any scene in a story, that scene is my favorite scene.

One scene I think is pivotal in A Measured Risk is when shy Anne forces herself to approach the sexy, sophisticated and somewhat sardonic Earl of Ruel. When she first approaches him, she’s so unsure of many things. She doesn’t know if he’s truly interested in her or if he merely intends to toy with her for his amusement. He’s experienced and older than she is. She’s completely intimidated by him and yet she forces herself to be brave and to send him a flirtatious overture with her fan. A clear signal that she’s interested in being alone with him.

Then he accepts and everything becomes real. Has she asked for more than she’s prepared to handle? The scene requires much bravery from her. She must accept all the uncertainty and being in a situation where she really has no experience or skills to guide her. She has to push herself and figure out on the fly what is need from her to meet the demands of the moment. It is the start of her growth and change in the story.

  Who designs your covers?
Most of my covers have been designed by the talented artists at The Killion Group.

Do you have a favorite spot to write?
We’re cramped for space at the present time. I have a corner of the living room set up as my office. I have two desks there, bookshelves (I have a ton of books, mostly history non-fiction and writing craft) and I also have a recliner there so I can write on my laptop in the afternoons. My cat is elderly and pretty frail now and she needs a lot of space to stretch out her achy bones. She doesn't want to try and get near me in the recliner any more. I usually take my laptop to bed in the evenings so she has plenty of room to curl up next to me while I write.

Do you have any book trailers for your books?  If yes can you share them with us?
I don't have any book trailers.

Do you prefer to write series and standalones?
I don't have a preference for one or the other. It just depends on what stories come to me the strongest. In the past, as a new author, I have in the past been most interested in writing a couple’s story in two books.

The first book would tell the story of how they became attracted to each other and became aware that they were falling in love. It would go deeply into how they overcame their initial conflicts to discover that they wanted to make a commitment to each other. Book one would end with them having made that commitment, usually an engagement.

The second book would cover how the couple moved from being newly in love to overcoming their deeper, more hidden conflicts so that they could learn to give each other what was most needed in a marriage. How do people learn to truly love each other? That's a question that interests me very much.

Will I continue to write love stories in two parts like that in the future? I am not sure. For the present, I am changing my pattern. The next series I am working on is called Intimate Secrets and it will feature standalone novels that are linked together by theme. The stories will feature characters who are driven by inner conflicts centered around secrets from their past.

When did you know you wanted to write a book? I have been creating stories in my mind for as long as I can remember. As soon as I learned how to draw, I started trying to capture the stories that came to me. Then later when I learned how to write, I started keeping little notebooks. Capturing the stories was always a driving need, there was never a time I thought for the first time, "I want to be a writer."

For most of my life, I was simply recording the stories because the internal pressure to capture the stories was so strong. It was just part of my private, inner life. I didn't see myself as a serious writer. Then around 2007 I felt a strong need to become serious about my writing. I began to spend all my spare time studying writing craft and applying what I learned in my practice novels.

In 2010, I received two particularly strong story ideas, which became Grey’s Lady and A Measured Risk. By the spring of 2011, I felt ready to make my first submission to a e-publisher and that book was the novella titled Grey's Lady, which was published by Total-e-Bound (Now known as Totally Bound) in August 2011. Waltz of Seduction was my second submission which actually became my debut novella and it was published by Ellora's Cave in May 2011. I am currently a self-publishing author and plan to remain one for the foreseeable future.

What was the last book you read?
I haven’t had much time lately for pleasure reading. I have been focused on historical research in preparation for several projects I have planned for the next couple of years. These projects will require a more solid grounding in a slightly different time period and location than the stories I have worked on in the past three years.

Are you attending any author signing events this year?
No

What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I am currently working on an erotic historical romance that features a rubenesque heroine and will contain aspects of light bondage and sensual domination. The title is The Delicate Matter of Lady Blayne.

This story is highly erotic and contains a slightly non-traditional subject matter, sexual shame and a different kind of heartbreak than most historicals. It explores how love can be felt in different ways for different people and how love can be a destructive force for the lover. Many of my stories explore how lovers may find ways to help each other discover and accept their deepest natures and heal sexual and emotional shame. This is the core theme of The Delicate Matter of Lady Blayne.

The Regency was a time of changing sexual attitudes from the pleasure-loving Georgian era to the more complex and rigid Victorian era. The aspect of uncertainty, anxiety and change in the Regency is something that interests me. It is the subconscious underside to the time period that has fascinated me the most. I like exploring that which people wanted to keep hidden. Yes, the Regency is outwardly a time of many gala balls and marriage and manners – all very polite and proper. Regency people were deeply concerned with their reputations and social images. However, that’s an example of how people *wanted* to be seen.

What happened behind closed doors?

What secret thoughts and fantasies lived in the minds and hearts of historical people?

There’s always a gap between how people want to be seen and the deeper emotional and psychological aspects that really drive their actions or hold them back. That’s what makes writing historical exciting for me. I love to get into the deeper aspects of any time and attempt to feel and experience what life might have been like for someone whose nature made it hard for them to fit in with the standards imposed on them by society.

My heroines are never perfect ladies and Lady Blayne is a very human character. I like to write flawed characters and to create stories with plenty of drama and angst. At the same time, I work hard at creating love stories that are sensual, erotic yet equally emotional and romantic and this is what I have attempted to craft with The Delicate Matter of Lady Blayne. I expect to release this story in late February.

Big Game: Hunted Love #1

by

When a legendary predator decides prize horses should be on his menu, Kate takes the advice of her foreman and hires a big game hunter to track the mountain lion and remove the threat. The hunter arrives to take up the trail, but instead of the seasoned older man she expects, he's young and impossibly sexy.

Freshly back from deployment to Afghanistan as a special forces operative, Jakob needs to clear his head of the horrors of war. When his uncle dies, Jakob steps in to hunt down a mountain lion on the other side of the state. The prospect of several days in the wilderness with only his horses and dogs for company sounds like the ideal opportunity. Except the infuriating female rancher insists on going along for the ride.

About the Author:
Growing up an only child, I was lucky enough to have a huge brood of cousins to help me get into all sorts of trouble. Long summers spent on various family members' farms gave me a deep appreciation for the outdoors and horses. I worked my way through college training horses as a result of those summers.
After 15 years editing books for strangers, I decided to try my own hand at writing. Big Game: Hunted Love #1 was my solo debut, and my story idea file is endless. After I finish the Hunted Love series, I have a romance series featuring soldiers returning from war and set twenty years in the future. And after that, there's a Roman Gladiator who keeps insisting on telling me his story...

This is a well written book with likeable characters. Kate owns a horse ranch, when a lion starts killing her horse, she hires a hunter, he died so his nephew Jakob takes the job. The question is who's hunting who and what? They had an immediate connection, there were sparks and major chemistry. Together they hunt the lion and more while in the wilderness......Book was a short quick read, with a 2nd and 3rd to follow. Given a copy of this book for an honest review.
4 Stars!!!

Review by Jennifer A.

Let me start off by saying that overall I really enjoyed this book. It was steamy, yet romantic. Jakob was the epitome of the ideal male. Kate was very easy to like and while her story was tragic, she was still relatable. The setting was unique and one that I haven't experienced before so I really appreciated the new world that the author sent to me.

With that being said, had the bonus chapter not been at the end I probably would have given this a 3 star instead of the 4 that I actually gave it. I felt the book was left at a point that was needlessly unresolved without that extra chapter. I am not sure the author's reasoning for adding it but it was a great choice. The only other issue that I had with the book was that sometimes the story line felt rushed. I felt like Jakob and Kate went really fast, perhaps faster than I felt was believable.

I am looking forward to reading more from this author and perhaps getting more glimpses into Jakob and Kate's love story."
4 Stars!!!

This was my first book by Aden Lowe. I enjoyed her characters and the story. Kate is a strong, feisty, independent woman. She did not let anything stop her from living life. Although she has a few issues, she overcomes them when she meets Jakob. Jakob is at a crossroads in his life when he takes Kate's call. You can feel the attraction between them from the first meet. It was a sexy, hot and a fun read. I wish it had been longer. I would recommend this to others who enjoy alpha males and a little spanking.
4 Stars!!!!

I was given a copy for Big Game for an honest review.  The story Big Game was an adorable story of a rancher and one of America’s finest who was trying to decide whether or not to reenlist.  Both protagonists had their own baggage but not too much to let the story flow.  I thoroughly enjoyed the hunt excursion, the simultaneous sexual tension, and their coming together.  The ending was adorable and I was very happy to be able to read the ‘extra’ chapter which solidified their relationship.  If anything, the well written story left me wanting more; more details on their personal lives, more about their relationship, and definitely more about the hunt.  I felt the hunt was too short and it could have been extended a day or two to develop the relationship a little bit more.  I read very quickly and when I sink my teeth into a good book I want to be able to enjoy it for more than a couple hours.  Big Game was an enjoyable and provocative book I devoured from beginning to end because the action and its characters kept it moving.  Bravo to Aden Lowe, I can’t wait for more!

Review by Suzanne Talkington
This is the first time reading a book by Aden Lowe and I have to say I enjoyed it. Though third person is not usually my cup of tea, Lowe made the book smooth in its transition between Kate and Jakob, as well as any other minor characters that came into play.I loved the thought path of Jakob of how he knew what he wanted even though he seemed to be a lost soul especially now home from his tour of duty as well as losing his uncle. I loved Kate's spunky attitude and she gave Jakob a run for his money in the start. The electric pull between the two was very well written even if the time span was short between being together :). I loved the way Lowe describes everything in the book and gives you a sense that you are actually there watching this all take place! I have to say my fave part in the book was the bonus chapter! I laughed so hard at Mr. Ambulance Chaser Lawyer getting chased out! But the chapter gave a sense of how final Jakob felt for Kate and I love stories like that even if they seem a tad unrealistic LOL. Definite 4 1/2 stars from me :)
4 1/2 Stars!!!!

Review by Elizabeth W

Kate Holt is a lone woman on a ranch full of men.  A limp from a childhood accident has sapped her confidence as a woman/ She has closed herself off from everything and puts her all into running her ranch.  When one of her horses is taken down by a mountain lion she is forced to call in outside help.

Jakob Barger is a military man at a crossroads.  While at his uncle's home wrapping up his estate, he gets the call from Kate Holt.  He decides to take the hunting job on his deceased uncle's behalf.  He sees this as a chance to clear his head and decide whether to stay in the military or return to the life he left behind.

The romance in this book was hot and sexy and full of Dom-y goodness.  If this isn't your cup of tea, never fear, it was pretty low on the Dom scale, just enough to make it uber-hot.  The relationship, while a quick build, didn't feel forced.  The dialog and descriptions were also very enjoyable. The story itself was a little rushed, which isn't surprising for a novella.  At the end it was made clear that Aden Lowe would be revisiting Kate and Jakob's story in a future book, which I look forward to.  The series shows great potential.  Some editing and continuity issues were a little annoying but did not detract from the overall enjoyment of the story.  I look forward to reading more of Aden Lowe's work in the future.

Men ruin women.

Especially men like Chase Davis. Good looking, intelligent, rich and powerful. I never stood a chance.

I didn’t want to want him.

I didn’t want to need him.

I didn’t want to fall for him.

He wouldn’t take no for an answer, and I let him consume me. Arrogant, confident, controlling, demanding … intense.
When he entered my life, I was finally healing after having barely survived the men of my past. My soul sisters told me to take a chance. To let someone in. I let him in, and he surrounded me with a light so bright I was blinded by the truth...

Men don’t ruin women. They devour them in every way that counts.

Warning: This book is designed for audiences 18+ due to language, graphic sexual content, and themes that some may find disturbing. BODY is book 1 of a three-part trilogy. Book 1 has a “Happy for Now” type ending.

This is the 1st book I've read by this author, and I enjoyed the Hot EROTIC novel!!! It was a great story, well written and the main characters Chase and Gillian were well developed! He was a hot alpha man with a history that made him controlling and overprotective. She had an abusive relationship that made her scared emotionally and physically- afraid to trust in a relationship and fall in love. They have an intense chemistry and a lot in common in their pasts. Their journey of learning to trust and confide in each other about they past and present feelings makes for an emotional read. This book was filled with lots of emotions, a touch of suspense, romance and HOT erotic romance. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED BY ME!!!!!So looking forward to the next book in the series!!!! Thank you for gifted copy!!!!

Mistaken Identity (Book 1)

When two worlds collide how many will survive?

I've been captured for six years and yet no one has bothered to help me, the one person I thought might of helped disappeared all of a sudden. Each day for the last six years I’ve had to deal with him touching me, telling me what he wants to do and I can't stand it.

I have to find out who she is and why she is free and I am here locked away and used as a puppet, I need to know everyone I love is ok. Although my gut instinct is telling me I may already be too late.

My name is Morgan and this is my story.

                                                                 UK                     US

CHAPTER 1 MORGAN
(PRESENT DAY)
Silence that’s all I hear, it’s dark and smells of stale piss, I’m sick of waking up in this place. I’ve been here for six years, six fucking years and no one has found me. Six fucking years of hating everyone for leaving me here, hating everyone who ignores my pleas for help. Six fucking years of nothing but his stale cigarette breath whispering into my ear telling me what he plans to do next, why no one will save me and how I am his and his alone. ! I curl up on the mattress that’s on the floor of my dark room, listening to every sound around me, I haven’t settled, I haven’t even let myself believe this is my end. I know someone is there waiting for me, coming to save me, I just don't know who and I don’t know when.

I’ve gone from the once shy and awkward young girl to a young women who fights back when times have gotten tough in here. There have been times when Harry really thought he could break me, but I’ve got stronger there was no other choice. It was tearing me apart all the emotional baggage I was dealing with, Harry is one nasty son of a bitch. ! Bailey has been here every step of the way and as much as I think he is a prick at times, there is just something about him that makes being here so much easier to deal with. Yeah it wasn't all plain sailing at first I’ve not gone completely mad, there were times I was ready to kick his arse. He wasn't happy he had to be my “baby-sitter” I swear I have never heard anyone moan as much as he did that first time. He glared at me all night sulking and mumbling to himself, as Harry’s son he didn't understand why he was being punished. Smiling to myself as I think of Bailey, that boy… No wait Man he’s all man. He would make the knickers of a Saint fall down and turn the most butch lesbian into a drooling school girl. ! There was one person I thought would get me out of here, but he left me three years ago. He promised I would have been out of here well before now. Promises are made to be broken I guess, sighing as I lay on my back and stare up at the ceiling. Both boys are on my mind tonight, I miss them dearly considering all the shit I’ve had to deal with in here.

They both have been there for me in some sort of way, one more than the other.

Wow, this is one book that left me speechless after reading. I absolutely loved reading Mistaken Identity. It's Amy-Beth's debut novel and she didn't an amazing job writing it. It hooked me from the beginning and keep me hooked to the end. We get several different POVs in the story. We get Morgan, Summer, Wyatt, Harry, and Bailey.

Harry is the crazy Uncle that has kidnapped Morgan who they all think is Summer. A few of the scenes with Harry hard to read. He seems to have no boundaries and does whatever he whats to do. Wyatt is Harry's nephew. He's not bad like Harry, he likes Summer and feels bad that Harry has kidnapped her. Bailey is Harry's son and Wyatt's cousin. He seems like he might be a descent person.

We don't get a lot of background on Summer. We know she is in hiding. The big question is why do Summer and Morgan look so much a like that no one can tell them apart? The ending left me wanting more and having a ton of unanswered questions. I can't wait to read the next book.

CHAPTER 3
HARRY
After that fucking email was sent to me I have been going crazy, I need to know what is going on before I make a complete twat out of myself. Andrew better hurry his fucking arse into this office before I go bat shit crazy around here, I’m just in the mood to pop a few people off. There’s a knock at the door, “Enter” I boom not really giving a shit about who it is or who might hear me. Every fucker around here better be on high alert with the bastard mood I’m in.
“Harry you called for me” a sniffling wreck that’s what he’s become…. He used to be one of the best men I had until he decided it was time he started drinking more and using more of my shit. “Yes, Andrew, have you found who we we’re looking for?”   “Yes, Boss, she's on her way here now…What would you like me to do when she arrives?” “Just bring her to my office and try to not let anyone else see her ok.” He nods and leaves the office, I am not waiting long before another knock hits my door.
“Er Harry, its Bailey I er… heard some shouting this morning and was wondering if everything is ok?”  “Yes, Bailey in fact come in I need to talk to you.” Well, this is going to be fun I already know he likes Summer but wouldn't do anything because Wyatt was in the way. Well, now it’s time to show him some truths.  “Ahh Bailey, I’m really glad you dropped by… How is Summer doing?”  “She’s feisty all right, I've never heard so much cussing come from a woman’s mouth before. Wanted to wash that mouth out with soap.” Chuckling I can believe what he is saying, that girl does have some sass for sure.  “Yeah I understand where you’re coming from, anyway the reason I have you in here is because when I give my order I would like you to bring her to me. Kicking and screaming if you have to. Do I make myself clear?”  “Aye Bossman whatever your heart desires.” I swear if he wasn't good at his job I’d put that smart mouth of his somewhere where it doesn't shine. It’s way too early for this shit.  “Good, I shall call for you when I am ready. I suppose she will be wanting a shower and some food?”
“Couldn’t hurt either way I s’pose.” Nodding my head I contemplate where to go from here. It’s all going to kick off when the girls meet for the first time and I WILL be demanding answers. “You are free to leave” just like that he turns and leaves me to ponder my thoughts. How things got so messed up is beyond me, however I am coming all guns blazing and my rage roaring. No-one takes me for granted, no-one tries to pull the wool over my eyes. I am Harry Fucking King and my law is law. !

Now or Never picks up where Mistaken Identity left off.    After reading  Mistaken Identity, I was left with a whole bunch of unanswered questions.  I was beginning to question whether Summer really existed.    Summer does exist, she's Morgan's twin that no one knew about.  You'll going to have to read the story to find out how that happened.  In the first book, Bailey seemed to be a descent guy but I still wasn't completely sure about him.  In this one there is no doubt that Bailey is a great guy.
There are a ton of twists and unexpected turns in this one.  Most of my questions where answered.  I would have liked to learned a little bit more about Summer, Bailey, and Wyatt before this all happened.  I can't wiat to read more about Wyatt in the next one.

Interview With Natalie-Nicole Bates:

Can you tell us a little about your books?
I write both contemporary and paranormal romance. I’ve been published since September of 2011. My first release was a short story called Antique Charming, followed by a contemporary full-length novel called Change of Address.

What inspires you to write?
Different days, different inspirations. Several of my stories were inspired by Victorian-era photographs, which I have a passion for. But I’m also inspired by music, dreams…different things.

Do you have a favorite spot to write?
I have a completely glass office at the back of my house. It’s private, and it’s like being in nature as I write.

Do you have any “odd” writing habits?
I don’t think it’s too ‘odd’, but I almost never just come up with an idea and sit down and write. I like to roll it around in my mind for at least a month before I actually write.

Do you listen to music while you write?
Sometimes, but I find it distracting.

Do you have a favorite character to write about?
Daniel Tremont, who is the hero of my paranormal romance novellas SAVE ME and SEE ME. I have a deep connection to the character.

What are writing projects are you currently working on?
I’ll soon be starting a story as part of a collection called ‘Sunset Beach Romance’. It will be a collaboration by four Books To Go Now authors who will produce a collection of stories to be released this summer. I will also be working on a second collection for Books To Go Now for a late 2015 release. I also plan on writing the third book in my RISE series, which will be titled Embree’s Rise.

Are you doing any Author Signing Event this year?
I’m hoping this year to attend the Festival of Romantic fiction here in the United Kingdom late this year. I also do a lot of online author events.

What book did you enjoy writing the most and why?
For me, I find contemporary and romance my favorite to write. With contemporaries, I like being able to relate to the characters and the situations they face. I also find New Adult a great market to write for. My first experience with NA was my Christmas novella, Forget Me Not Christmas. I found writing in first person to be very enjoyable.

What's the last book you read?
Wow, it’s been a while since I had time to actually sit down and read a book for pleasure. I believe the last book I read was Laura, written by Vera Caspary. It was written in 1942.

Review for Sound Advice by LB Dunbar

REVIEW BY TABITHA:
So I was asked to read this book for an honest review and honestly it was one I was not necessary so super excited to read, HOWEVER I am so glad I did. This book really touched me in a way that I am not sure another book has ever done. The way this author wrote this is beyond amazing!! I absolutely fell in love with Jess, Emily and little Katie and of course Nana. My heart just broke for Jess and his daughter, Katie. Ms. Dunbar is definitely on my authors that are a must read. My only complaint was that I felt like it started out a bit slow, but once it picked up man it picked up and I was at the end and crying because I didn't want it to be over yet. Very well done Ms. Dunbar!! I can not wait to read the next in the series!! This was a 4.25 AMAZEBALLS stars for me!! A copy was gifted in exchange for an honest review.

Title: Fervent
Author: Gemma James
Series: Condemned #3

 Release Date: April 30, 2015

Synopsis

I never imagined things could get worse, but they do. The men who took us show no mercy. They won’t stop until they’ve destroyed Rafe for something he has no memory of, and I’m their weapon of choice.

Tortured and defiled, they make me wish I was back in that cabin where death was favorable to drawing another breath, but our captors can’t break what’s already broken.

What scares me is the madness I see festering inside Rafe. I’ve taken his freedom, his career, his reputation, yet despite all I’ve done, he’s determined to fight for me, kill for me, give everything he is for me.

He’ll even die for me.
