Reviews of In Pursuit (Pursuit #1) and Of Happiness (Pursuit #2) by Olivia Luck

In Pursuit (Pursuit, #1)

In Pursuit (Pursuit #1)

 Synopsis:
Eddie Neff needs space. Not the type that country stars croon about, but physical distance from her emotionally distant father and the tatters of a broken relationship. So when the opportunity to relocate her life and interior design business arises, the answer comes easily.

Adjusting to life with Claire, her gregarious new roommate, is more than simply testing comfort limits. With just one meeting, Eddie finds herself unable to resist the draw of Harris Grant, Claire’s brooding and overprotective older brother.

Harris doesn’t fit her idea of a safe relationship. He pushes Eddie to face her deepest insecurities and fears of abandonment. And Harris holds on to his own painful loss, unable to overcome personal demons.

Eddie and Harris must learn to conquer their internal struggles. But as they navigate their new love, outside forces fight to drive them apart.

Author note: In Pursuit is the first book in a two book series. Intended for 18+ readers.

Review by Tabitha:
I want to say it is books like this that make me so happy to be a blogger. I would have never even known this book was out there. So know that I have read Ms. Luck I will be putting her on my must read list from now on. Ok now onto the review, In Pursuit is a FANTASTIC read!!! Edith Neff is an interior designer who moves to Chicago, leaving behind her old life in D.C. With a fresh new start, she moves in with Claire Grant, a high school friend of her best friend Sarah. And in comes Harris, Claire's brother, who you can just tell is a keep to himself hottie and is very overprotective of his sister and has a secret of his own. Eddie and Harris just mesh so great together and I LOVE Luke and Sean! OMG I want friends like them. I was laughing at them so much I literally was crying. Claire I wanted to punch her, but man oh man I was definitely swooning over Harris by the time I got to the end of the book. Forewarning though this book will leave you with a cliffhanger. Luckily Of Happiness (book 2) is out already! I rate this book a very high 5 AMAZEBALLS stars!!!

Review by Tabitha:
Of Happiness picks up right where In Pursuit leaves off with Eddie running out in tears due to Claire's lies and into the arms of her father. Up until now Eddie doesn't have the most loving relationship with her father, but he shows up at the right time and is there for his daughter when she desperately needs it along with her gay bestie Sean whom I LOVE to death. To say that Harris is done fighting for his relationship with Eddie is a huge understatement. He is going to fight tooth and nail to win her back. I personally think that is one of his sexiest qualities. I mean really who doesn't love a man who fights for what he wants right? Needless to say, he has some tough battles to get through especially with his crazy sister at the helm of it all. I really love how the author totally made this story so believable. It could happen to anyone. I think that is what made me love this story even more. The characters, the story, the steaminess, and even the crazy were all so relatable. I think you will find that every single person in this book has a meaning for being in it. They weren't just characters to fill up space. They all actually played a part and it was fantastic. The conclusion was a little surprising I must say. I didn't see certain things happen which I will not go into because I don't want to give anything away. All in all this series is a must read!!! It is definitely one I will reread at some point. Great job Ms. Luck!! I look forward to reading anything you publish in the future!! This one is definitely a 5 Star for me!!!!
